Thomas Hawn has spent more
than 25 years in both the corporate and nonprofit worlds. He is a creative,
accountable and seasoned executive with a background in product, financial,
nonprofit and change management. During his 10 years at Progressive Insurance,
he worked in operations, general management of a region and ultimately as the
controller for the Information Technology Division. While at Progressive, he
served as the board president of Slavic Village Development, a local
neighborhood development corporation in Cleveland dedicated to improving the
quality of housing and life in that neighborhood. That volunteer effort
eventually led to his joining the organization as its Chief Financial Officer
and Associate Director.
Mr.Hawn moved back to the for-profit world by joining Key Bank as the Director of
Credit Product Management where he was responsible for the management of a $10
billion portfolio of loans and lines of credit.
He later led the development of segment market strategies at Key for the
mass market, the Hispanic market and the under-banked who use payday lenders
and check cashing services instead of banks.
Mr. Hawn is a past president of the boards of directors for the Broadway Area
Housing coalition and Greater Cleveland Community Shares. He was also a former
co-chair for Greater Cleveland Community Shares’ advisory board. He is the
president of the board of directors at the Plexus Education Foundation. Mr.
Hawn received his undergraduate degree in Political Science/Computer Science
from Oakland University in Rochester, Michigan.In addition, he is a graduate of the Key Bank Management program at Case
Western Reserve University.
