Jennifer Margolis brings a strong
background in organizational and community development to the Cobalt Group. Her
passion is building strong organizations and communities by helping people
effectively navigate change and transition. Jennifer’s core competencies
include: leadership development, facilitating positive organizational change,
building strategic partnerships, strategic planning, effective team
development, designing and leading educational interventions, coaching and
counseling individuals and groups.
Jennifer's work at Cobalt Group has included a variety of nonprofit, community-based and government initiatives including: serving as a lead participant coach for the Neighborhood
Leadership Development Program pilot-project funded by the Mandel Foundation
and co-leading a strategic planning initiative for the Free Clinic of Greater
Cleveland. She has also directed an organizational development transformation
process for the U.S. Department of Defense Finance Accounting Services (DFAS)
Cleveland office. She has provided organizational development consulting
services and executive coaching to a start-up ex-offender re-entry organization
in Cleveland, a faith-based social services organization in Akron, Ohio, and a
Cleveland-based specialty treatment clinic for eating disorders. Ms. Margolis
is also serving as a coach for a group of future leaders in Cuyahoga County’s
human services systems.
In
the field of aging, Ms. Margolis has spent significant time working with
municipal, community-based and institutional service providers. Much of her
work has centered around mission alignment, organizational analysis, QA/QC,
assessment of operating efficiencies and development of strategic partnerships
to improve work flow for transportation and meal programs for older adults.
Previously, Ms. Margolis was the Program Director at the Council of International Programs,
USA where she worked on managing operations, organizational growth and
marketing efforts, planning and facilitating training programs, and designing
advocacy and legislative initiatives. She also has experience in
community-based care as a social worker, working with children and families.
Ms. Margolis' community involvement includes serving as a field instructor for
master’s level social work students at the Mandel School for Applied Social
Sciences, Case Western Reserve University and a Trustee of the Ellie Fund, a
small family foundation focused on at-risk and impoverished children in
Cuyahoga County.
Ms. Margolis holds a Master’s of Science in Social Administration and Master’s of
Science in Organization Development from Case Western Reserve University,
Cleveland, Ohio, and a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from
Carleton College.
